STILL ALIVE
Since February 24, 2022, we have been experiencing the world in a new way. The Russian "military special operation" has driven hundreds of thousands of people from Ukraine to Germany, where they have been accommodated in various places. In this photographic work, Oxana Guryanova portrays her protagonists in the places where they are staying, in order to depict the natural environment in which Ukrainian refugees find themselves. The photographs were taken between March and June 2022.
These locations vary — temporary shelters, rented apartments, or family homes of relatives. But one thing is the same: people are trying to carry on with their lives. Despite the war.
