DISPLACED
When leaving becomes the only way to remain yourself

Since early 2022, many people have left a country they could no longer live in -  where silence became unbearable, staying impossible, and breathing difficult. Their departure was not an escape, but a decision: an inner act of preserving oneself.
Displaced is dedicated to those who found themselves in between - between two lives, between past and present, between memory and the fragile beginnings of something new. I work with people who left - alone, with families, carrying fear, pain, and hope.
I create portraits in their new surroundings - in daily life, in stillness, in vulnerability. These images are accompanied by symbolic details, archival fragments, objects, gestures. These are not only biographies, but atmospheres: glances, shadows, silences.
Displaced is not a chronicle of emigration. It is a photographic way of being close. A way of listening to those who chose honesty over comfort.
A gesture toward the kind of dialogue we often miss.
